Which explains why they can't talk to each other over 127.0.0.1.

Each VM or container will have an assigned, individual IP address so it can \
communicate with networks outside of the VM (eg, the host machine or real world). You \
must use each VM's assigned IP address - not 127.0.0.1 - in the clustering \
configuration to allow the two VMs to communicate with each other.
