Thanks everybody. I was wondering if there is a maximum end-to-end
(controller to last shelf in stack) distance that applies to a stack built
w/all copper cables. For example, a stack consisting of 6 shelves
connected with 5 meter cables would have an end-to-end distance of 30
meters. I was curious because the Universal SAS Cabling Guide lists the
maximum end-to-end distances for optical cables (not for copper).

We currently have a total of 12m of passive SAS copper between our
controller and the last shelf in the stack. While I'm still not sure if
there is an end-to-end maximum that applies to passive copper, I think we
are in good shape given there are passive copper cable lengths of up to 5
meters.
