Default qmail doesn't validate whether the username part of the email
address is valid before it accepts the mail for local handling.

It looks like you've installed an extension (no doubt as part of the
toaster instructions) to add this feature. Judging by the error message
above, I guess the extension is called chkuser.

It looks like chkuser doesn't know about extension addresses (so it lets
in x@example.com, but not x-extension@example.com). Try seeing if you
can reconfigure chkuser to work correctly.
