I've seen this posted to the list a few times, but I didn't find any responses.

What is the correct way to manually configure the engineID ?

I've tried a string of bytes and a colon seperated list of bytes, and from my sniffer trace it's
always being converted to a an octet string. ?

I'm using a scotty snapshot from 5-6-2002 , tcl 8.3.4

Also on a different note, I notice scotty crashes with a core dump as soon as it receives
the (valid ) report back in response to a message with an invalid engineID?  Is it worth my 
time to try another  snapshot that might have this fixed ?
