Thank you, that is very useful information.
However, I used to be able to overwrite the Defatl Profile with another one I \
configure. I used to do this from System Properties -> Advanced -> User Profiles. \
When I try to copy a profile, the "Copy to" button is greyed out. Is this still \
possible in 2008 R2? Maybe this is just not the right way to do things anymore.

What I'm rely having problems with is: populating some trusted sites to all users. I \
am doing through group policies, but I am getting mixed results. Sometimes, the \
trusted sites are not populating. I'd like to at least pre-populate these sites on \
new user profiles.

Hi Hector,

The process is still pretty much the same. Most differences are due to how and where \
they've moved stuff.
You can make this more obvious by using command prompt. Navigate to c:\ and issue the \
command dir /ah. That will show you that "Documents and Settings" is now only a \
junction to the real directory "Users" Navigate down into Users and do the dir /ah \
again. That will show you that "Default User" is now only a junction to the real \
directory "Default". Navigate down into Default and do the dir /ah again.
That will show you that "Application Data" is now only a junction to the real \
directory "C:\Users\Default\AppData\Roaming". And so on.

You can change real files within the real directories just as you used to. Just be \
careful not to orphan any junctions. You can load the C:\Users\Default\NTUser.dat \
into a registry hive just as you used to.
Hope this helps.

Subject: [THIN] Default User Profile

Does anyone know how to configure a default user profile on Windows 2008 R2 Terminal \
Servers? I am not having luck doing a search. It used to be you could overwrite the \
Default User profile in Windows 2003. I understand things are different in 2008 R2. \
 Thanks in advance,
