Subject: [THIN] simple questions about planning Terminal Services installation

I need to install a Terminal Server solution (running Windows 2000
Terminal Services) for 25 users on a small LAN. The idea is to
replace the client desktop. The users will be running Office 2000
and Internet Explorer. There is also a large customized Access 2000
database that about half the users will be using on Terminal Services.
Here are my questions ---
1) Should I install one server or two? I would prefer to install
one, but I am concerned about stability. (I have had some stability
problems on Windows NT 4 Terminal Server.) If I install Windows 2000
Terminal Services, will it be stable enough for me to get by with
using one server? Minimal downtime is ok, but if it goes down a few
times a month, that would be unacceptable. If I had two servers, the
users could be redirected to the one that works if one went down.
2) How much RAM and processing power would I need? (I can get the
recommended numbers off of Microsoft's web site, but I am curious as
to what works in the real world.) Should I consider the Xeon
processor or is the money better spent elsewhere?
3) For the hard drive configuration, I am considering two
alternatives. I could use hardware RAID. Or I could purchase 3 SCSI
hard drives, and use one for the OS, one for applications, and one
for the page file. Which is better?
Thanks in advance.
