CALL FOR CHAPTER PROPOSALS
Proposal Submission Deadline: June 30, 2013
Human Factors in Software Development and Design
A book edited by Dr. Saqib Saeed (Bahria University Islamabad, Pakistan), D=
r. Imran Sarwar Bajwa (Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Pakistan), and Dr.=
Zaigham Mahmood (University of Derby, UK)

To be published by IGI Global: http://bit.ly/13fPLHR

Introduction
Software development is inherently a complex activity. Human aspects play a=
n important role in software development. There is a strong need to underst=
and "humans" involved in software development process estimation and team m=
anagement are dependent on human factors and a deep understanding of obstac=
les and problems can help in improving these processes. This book will focu=
s on bringing these inherent issues into the forefront to help practitioner=
s in gaining maturity of their software development process. Extensive huma=
n involvement in software development has made humans an important stakehol=
der in the software process. Furthermore, due to emerging paradigms of end =
user development where end users also take up the role of software enhancem=
ent, the need for understanding human aspects has become more critical. The=
goal of this book is to provide an introduction to the fundamental human a=
spects in the software development process.

Objective of the Book
The aim of this book is to publish high quality original research contribut=
ions on the specialized theme of human factor in software development proce=
sses and to disseminate the elements of good practices suggested and employ=
ed by researchers and practitioners in this field. The focus of the propose=
d book is to consider all relevant aspects of software development processe=
s in relation to implications for human cognitive limits. The objective is =
to come up with strategies to improve the software quality. A second focus =
is to bring the best practices and guidelines for technology design in this=
 specialized area.

Recommended Topics: include, but are not limited to, the following:
=95	Software Development Environments
=95	Software-Human Interaction
=95	Learning Processes in SE
=95	Code Inspections and Refactoring
=95	Heuristics in Software Development

=95	System Design and Tailorability
=95	Technology Appropriation
=95	End User Software Engineering

Submission Procedure
Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before June 30, 2=
013, a 2-3 page chapter proposal clearly explaining the mission and concern=
s of his or her proposed chapter. Authors of accepted proposals will be not=
ified by July 15, 2013 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter=
guidelines. Full chapters are expected to be submitted by October 30, 2013=
. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. C=
ontributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.
