A Ph.D. Scholarship (in Distributed Stochastic Discrete-Event Simulation
and its Applications for Performance Evaluation of Telecommunication
Networks) at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand.

University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand, offers a three-year
Ph.D. scholarship for research in the area of distributed stochastic 
discrete-
event simulation and its applications for performance evaluation of
telecommunication networks.
  	The scholarship includes an emolument of NZ$15000 per annum, plus
payment of domestic  university fees (i.e. the full university fee for
permanent residents of New Zealand,  or citizens of Australia, Germany or
France) for 3 years of full-time university study.
  	Suitable candidates, with a background in discrete-event simulation
as well as in related  areas of Computer Science, Operations Research
and/or Statistics, should contact:

  	The applicant review process will begin at the beginning of  November
2003, and will  continue until January 10, 2004. The successful candidate
could commence his/her Ph.D.   study at any time, but not later than by
the end of July, 2004.

Note:
Ph. D. students coming from other countries than New Zealand, Australia,
Germany or France would need to pay an additional annual university fee
(about  NZ$17000 for 2004).
