This could be a font related problem. The PDF file will use the same font \
as your KDE default font. This font also needs to be available to your \
printer and all the viewers you use. If the font is not available the \
renderer will select a font with a "similar" metric. This can lead to \
corrupted result.

If using another font does not help, please attach a PDF so we can have a \
closer look.
