We've seen this issue before but not yet been able to reproduce
it 100% consistently. More precisely, whenever I'm all good and
set up to catch it in the act and start debugging it, I can never
seem to make it happen :/

The first thing to do is to open a bug report at bugzilla.redhat.com
so that we can track the issue both internally and externally. For
your convenience, we have opened a bug report for you on this issue:

     https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=106019

After that, you should attach as much information as you can gather
to the bug report. System details (run /sbin/dmidecode,
cat /proc/cpuinfo, /proc/meminfo, /proc/pci), dmesg output,
and a console log if you can get it.

You say you don't get anything on the serial port. Be aware that
serial console is not enabled by default on Taroon installs; you
have to add it yourself. There are two ways to do this. The first
is to edit /etc/grub.conf and add the following options to the
"kernel" line:

	console=ttyS0,38400 console=tty0

The other is from the opening GRUB screen; select your desired
kernel to boot, press "a", and enter the above by hand at the end
of the kernel boot line (substitute your favorite baud rate for
"38400" above if you'd like)

If this still doesn't work, you may have console redirection
enabled in the BIOS and this may be messing up Linux console
activity. Go to your BIOS setup and make sure console redirection
is disabled and try again.

Please address all future correspondence with Red Hat regarding
this issue through Bugzilla so we can capture and track it.

Regards,
