Brasero disk burner functions from the applications menu (panel) and
also from drag/drop in Nautilus

OTR in Pidgin for IRC functions

ssh to LAN with IP = yes

generating pgp/gpg keys in seahorse functions

encrypt a file with public key in nautilus from right click context
menu functions 

decrypt a file with public key in nautilus with *open
with decrypt file* from right click context menu functions

encrypt 10.6 kb text file with passphrase functions (default cipher was
AES256) 

encrypt 10.6 kb text file with public key functions

gpg specific messages were also included in the decryption output window
applet context menus were readable and correct

Clock Panel Applet

Editing time *locations* (in bottom dropdown menu) functions

/!\ clock graphic next to newly added location was only the
    hour and minute hands NO circle around the clock icon 
/!\ perhaps the graphic icon gif is broken, in earlier versions an
    entire clock face was shown as icon, iirc.

selecting the newly added time location to be used as a new (local)
time in the main clock in the panel functioned and a *home/house* icon
was added to the right of the time entry. The new local time was
displayed in the main clock.

Removing the added time location from the locations list (with edit)
did NOT change the local time back to the original GMT/UTC Tails
default time, the newly set local time remained SET for that particular
use session.

At reboot and new session, main panel clock returned to the Tails
default GMT/UTC as expected.
