I do. I have vidalia/tor-daemon-interaction set to "nothing".
According to my understanding of this setting's documentation,
vidalia.config should *not* kill the system-wide Tor daemon. In my
experience it currently does:

	Extracting templates from packages: 100%
	Preconfiguring packages ...
	Stopping tor daemon: tor.

I think you might understand more clearly what I'm trying to explain
by having a look at the piece of logic my proposed patch changes.
