It's correct that you should basically never bundle the libraries on a Linux machine where TagLib is going to be part of the base install for most systems.  However, on Windows or OS X, it's more or less required.  (That said, I'm not a fan of doing things this way since it will make bug reports from anyone using this mostly useless, and honestly wasn't a huge fan of the source uglification required to resolve the symbol conflicts.)
