Hi...

Seemingly randomly, sylpheed hangs completely while 'Connecting to pop3
server at gmail.com'. 

I read about a similar problem, and a change in Sylpheed to solve it, but
this still continues. There is a change though: before downloading svn,
the hangs were un-'kill'able. Now a simple kill removes sylpheed.

I'm using 1.9.9+svn.
