Hi,
I'm migrating messages from mh folders to a new IMAP server via Sylpheed.
Sylpheed shows this IMAP log transcript:
[23:06:02] IMAP4> 11 STATUS INBOX/messytest (MESSAGES RECENT UIDNEXT UIDVALIDITY UNSEEN)
[23:06:02] IMAP4< * STATUS INBOX/messytest (MESSAGES 1 RECENT 0 UIDNEXT 2 UIDVALIDITY 1097464724 UNSEEN 0)
[23:06:02] IMAP4< 11 OK Completed
[23:06:02] IMAP4> 12 APPEND INBOX/messytest (\Seen) {10093}
[23:06:02] IMAP4< + go ahead
[23:06:02] IMAP4> (sending file...)
[23:06:02] IMAP4< 12 NO Message contains invalid header
** can't append message to INBOX/messytest
[23:06:02] IMAP4> 13 STATUS INBOX/messytest (MESSAGES RECENT UIDNEXT UIDVALIDITY UNSEEN)
[23:06:02] IMAP4< * STATUS INBOX/messytest (MESSAGES 1 RECENT 0 UIDNEXT 2 UIDVALIDITY 1097464724 UNSEEN 0)
[23:06:02] IMAP4< 13 OK Completed
It looks like cyrus is barfing on message envelope headers (the initial
'From ' line, not the 'From: ' header.) See
http://asg.web.cmu.edu/archive/message.php?mailbox=archive.info-cyrus&searchterm=invalid%20header&msg=15607
Short of duplicating my mail folders and manually stripping out the
envelope headers, is there an easier way of doing this via sieve, etc?
Thanks,
-- Bob
