with aspell:

Check spelling: |T=`mktemp $HOME/.sXXXXXX`; cat - > $T;xterm -e aspell
-c $T;cat $T;rm $T|

Also, a note for anyone doing this for the first time, place -hold after
xterm above so the xterm doesn't disappear as soon as (if) it gets an
error.
