I do not use DOS.  So I don't use the 8.3 naming format that DOS requires.
So why do text files have to have the ".txt" suffix in order for sylpheed
to attach them as "text/plain"? 

Can I configure sylpheed to attach a file named "readme" as a
"text/plain"?

Currently, I think I can change it to "text/plain" if I manually type that
in, but I can't select 7-bit encoding (without patching the source).
