Barry, headers alone are useless in detecting spam and/or viruses. I
use Popfile, based on a Basian-like filter. It scans the body as well
as the header and keeps a dictionary of key words and phrases. It
initially knows nothing about spam; you have to teach it by manually
flagging spam for a few days. I never get false negatives and only
rarely false positives, in which case I simply tell the filter that this
is spam and it adds to it's dictionary. This kind of comprehensive sweep
requires that the whole email be downloaded for analysis. Your ISP, if
they are responsible, will catch most viruses/worms before they reach
you. Spam is subjective. Popfile is a proxy that sits between Sylpheed
and the mail server, analysing for and flagging spam for sorting by
Sylpheed. It's also very easy to install.

thought? In the end we shall make thoughtcrime literally impossible,
because there will be no words in which to express it.
