  Is the ultimate solution... The configure reads the version from the
-config script, then compiles a small program that reads the version
from the shared library itself. In your case the second test fails.
It means the library used for the linking is the wrong one (could be
a due to a library installed in two different places, or to an updated
library without runing the ldconfig).

You can try to re-run ldconfig, remove the config.cache and start again,
but you can also try to locate the test in the configure script and after
the small program compilation insert a ldd <program> to print the list
of libraries used (here you should be able to trace the bad gpgme
library used).
