I wanted to use suspend to ram under linux.

I use suse linux 7.1 I have installed a new free vanilla-core and =
installed the acpi-patch from 2002.07.26.

In the Bios i have switched on S3(Str) mode. The kernel shows at =
start-up some acpi things now. In the kernel log there are no errors.

But if call "echo 3 > /proc/acpi/sleep" there is no reaktion at all. =
Nothing happens!
echo 0/1/2/3/4/5 doenst work too. Nothing happens too.

The /proc/acpi-file sys is ok too because if I write a new alarm time to =
/proc/acpi/alarm with echo blabla the new time is setted in this file.
The /proc/acp/sleep file shows S0 S3 S4 S5 or S0 S1 S4 S5 in S3(Pos) =
mode.

But if I put the e echo command really nothing happens.

What is the problem? What can I do against that?
