There's a viewer in the swftools/swfs folder of the install.
It sounds like your viewer isn't telling the pdf swf too stop.
Try using a gotoAndStop(1); actionscript on it.

Subject: [Swftools-common] SWFtools viewer
Hi All,
I'm trying to make my own viewer, but I can't get it useable.
If I swfcombine the pdf2swf output with my own viewer I get to see my viewer and \
all pages of the pdf as a very fast slideshow. Are there any viewers (.fla versions) \
where I can look how they work, and what I've done different/wrong.I'm getting this \
problem for 3 days now, and don't like it anymore. Hope someone could help me.
