Thanks a lot for all the help.

The problem persists.

I have rewritten the yaboot.conf file 50 times and booted both with and
without SCSI drivers.

For now I have "given up", tomorrow I am going to install it on the ATA
drive. 

But any last ideas are more than welcome.
