Hmm, it sounds like somehow your kernel is not properly installed. That file
should be in the image (at least in the -default kernel).
Run: 'rpm --verify kernel-smp'
I'm assuming that it'll show some errors. You should re-install the kernel
via 'rpm -hvu --force kernel-smp-2.6.4-54.i586.rpm' (or similar).
However, there are newer kernels out there; run yast to update your system, or
go download the lasest one, and upgrade it. The existing kernel that you're
running has known security holes in it. :-(
