Hi Charles, sorry for the late response but my wife didn't allowed me to
use the computer she was finishing some proyects.
I will answer your questions:
(1) Does it work in another OS?
(2) It is making strange noises? Is the scanner unlocked?
(3) Is it plugged in properly?
Yes, the scanner works fine in Windows, and it is not making any strange
noises, hopefully.
An strange thing that I noticed is that when I configure the scanner
with yast it comments all the properties of the mikrotek2.conf file. I
uncommented the properties and use the xscanimage program but is the
same, I don't know if it is using the old config file. I restarted the
computer and load the modules and tryied to use the scanner and the
program doesn't launch, I have to reconfigure with yast again. Why I
don't know.
I added the option dump 2 and the log file is attached to this email.
Well, and about the scanner I cannot ask any more, you know I am a
student and I was in a garage sale and I found the scanner for 10
dolars, works fine (in Windows) and was intact I think they didn't even
use it. I hope I can configure it in linux because I work mostly in linux.
