it indeed helps a lot, even if you're gui dependent :)
Just type in any browser:
ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt/SuSE/8.1-i386/
And a whole lot of directories will be shown. The directories starting with
RPMS. provide the binary rpms (being linked to the suse/people directory).
This may save some time when browsing the suse ftp server(s).
