Based on a live image, I could see that indeed the menu appears to be gone. At 
this moment I am not sure what creates it, but it seems something didn't got 
initialized. 

To active the menu, please perform the following action

System Settings -> Application Appereance -> Style.  Choose here the second 
tab (Fine Tuning). The last option (Menubar Style) controls the placement of 
the menu. 	If you select there "in Application", then your old menu should be 
back. 

As soon as RC3 is official released, I will put a bugreport.
