It is centred as well in Firefox 1.0.7

I see you have a style for hw as:

.hw { width: 50% } /* hw = half width */

Perhaps it is up to the browser to decided what alignment to use if one is not 
specified. I'm not sure what the CSS standard states.

So, you may need to explicitly state the alignment you want in that definition 
of hw.
