I was actually told by IBM, not to use the 'domino' script. That's
interesting that their redbooks tell you to. Hmm.
We just have a script that calls /opt/lotus/bin/server -s
The script resides in /etc/init.d/ and we have a symbolic in
/etc/init.d/rc3.d

Domino 601 as Service
Hi Oliver!
That´s what I´ve tried, but that did not work either. In fact, the script
did not even start domino at all. So I decided to make some changes. But
maybe I´ve overseen some things in the redbook. I´ll have another look.
Thanks!
Andy

Hello Andy,
please have a look at the following redbook:
http://publib-b.boulder.ibm.com/Redbooks.nsf/RedbookAbstracts/sg246835.html?Open
It includes a link to
ftp://www.redbooks.ibm.com/redbooks/SG246835/
where you can find a complete start/stop script for /etc/init.d, called
"domino":

[suse-domino] Starting Domino 601 as Service
Hi there!
I installed Domino 6.0.1 on a SuSE 8.0 box. It did well untill a complete
reboot.
The thing was, that I wrote a script, which does the following:
change to the notesdata - directory
start the server by using the following command:
su notesuser -c "/opt/lotus/bin/server"
Then I told my linux - box to start that script in runlevel 3 and 5. But
when I reboot, the domino server hangs with an error like "can´t locate
resources file" or something like that.
The only way, I got my linux box back online, was by booting into runlevel
one, removing the script from the runlevels and changing into runlevel 5
again.
Has anybody some idea how to automate the startup?
TIA,
Andy
