AFAIK OES1 is SLES9 SP1 based. That's an important difference (at least for 
me) :)

just SLES9 or with SLES9 SPx?
If it's just SLES9, it might be that there was a fix for that in SP1 and so 
OES1 works fine, while SLES9 without any SP fails.
