GCJ is the GNU Java Compiler, it will produce 64-bit binaries (without
the JVM).
Java Apps are byte-code that is interpreted at run time, the Java code
is independend of word-size - but the interpreter can take advantage
of larger address space etc. The current available JVMs are all
32-bit. But fortunatly - compared to IPF - 32-bit code runs as fast
as 64-bit code. Just 64-bit code has extra registers and more address
space.
