r1163372 fixes this issue. The fix has been on trunk for a while.

That revision was actually by me. I remember finding a mix-up with "@N" vs.
"-rN" revision numbers and fixing that, but wasn't sure whether the fix had any
real life consequences, so I didn't have a regression test nor a reason for
backport. Now that this issue was brought to my attention, I had a hunch, and
indeed, this issue adds the regression test to my fix from a few months back. :)

Will add a regression test and nominate for backport shortly.
