Hi,

I am observing the following behaviour in the cluster.

two session on node 1
kvaneesh@gfsserv:~$ tty
/dev/1/pts/0
kvaneesh@gfsserv:~$

kvaneesh@gfsserv:~$ tty
/dev/1/pts/1
kvaneesh@gfsserv:~$

one session on node 2
kvaneesh@gfsserv:~$ tty
/dev/2/pts/0
kvaneesh@gfsserv:~$

But w shows .

kvaneesh@gfsserv:~$ w
 04:55:36 up 19 min, 2 users, load average: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00
USER TTY FROM LOGIN@ IDLE JCPU PCPU WHAT
kvaneesh 2/pts/0 satan.xko.dec.co Tue04 12259days 1.85s 0.15s w
kvaneesh 1/pts/1 satan.xko.dec.co 04:37 3.00s 0.94s 0.94s -bash
kvaneesh@gfsserv:~$

As you can pts/0 on node 1 is skipped.

Any ideas ? is it something to do with telnetd/login ?

does it happen on redhat ?
