Hi
I have installed ssi with opengfs and It booted successfully.
initially init.ssi usage 0.0 % to 1% CPU , but after few minutes
suddenly CPU usage becomes 99.8 % and it defuncts xinetd,
crond, dhcpd, ifup and syslog daemons. and after few minutes ( 2 or 3
min.) it hangs and stop working .
Initially cpu usage (using top command)
PID USER PRI NI SIZE RSS SHARE STAT %CPU %MEM TIME COMMAND
1 root 10 0 0 0 0 SW 0.1 0.0 0:00 gfs_inoded
1 root 9 0 520 520 440 S 0.0 0.0 0:00 init.ssi
2 root 9 0 0 0 0 SW 0.0 0.0 0:04 init setup
66551 root 9 0 0 0 0 Z 0.0 0.0 0:00 xinetd
66573 root 9 0 0 0 0 Z 0.0 0.0 0:00 crond
6 root 9 0 0 0 0 SW 0.0 0.0 0:00 kswapd
7 root 9 0 0 0 0 SW 0.0 0.0 0:00 bdflush
66576 root 9 0 712 712 588 S 0.0 0.0 0:00 dhcpd
Hang condition cpu usage (using top command)
PID USER PRI NI SIZE RSS SHARE STAT %CPU %MEM TIME COMMAND
1 root 9 0 520 520 440 S 99.8 0.9 0:03 init.ssi
root 10 0 0 0 0 SW
0.1 0.0 0:00 gfs_inoded
2 root 9 0 0 0 0 SW 0.0
0.0 0:04 init setup
66573 root 9 0 0 0 0 Z 0.0 0.0 0:00
crond <defunct>
66551 root 9 0 0 0 0 Z 0.0 0.0 0:00
xinetd <defunct>
66576 root 9 0 712 712 588 S 0.0 0.0 0:00
dhcpd<defunct>
can somebody help me how to solve this problem and why did not it
respawn the defuncted deamons (xinetd ,syslogd, dhcpd, etc.) when I try
to respawn using init.ssi .
Thanx
vikram singh
