I'm having problems getting the search function to work with my
SquirrelMail installation.

If I click Search then depending on the browser I get one of two responses:

With Firefox: I get complete gibberish
With IE: I get a message saying that IE cannot open search.php?mailbox=INBOX

It's only the search function I seem to be having problems with, any ideas
anyone?

My system is:

# IMAP Server : IMAP 1:2001a
# PHP : PHP 4.4.2-17.14
# Web server : APACHE 2.0.40-21.17
# Platform : REDHAT 9.0
# How your software was installed : FROM RPM
# SquirrelMail version : 1.4.5
