Hello List,

Allow me to take this opportunity to give a feedback on my earlier request
for help with incorporating Japanese Language Support into squirrelmail.
This is also being sent here for posterity reasons.

I'd like to thank Masato Higashiyama (who maintains patch for Japanese
support) and Scott Hughes, who both gave me massive help (I'll call it
hand-holding if I were to be sincere) towards resolving this issue.

Here is what I had to do.

1. I had to compile php-4.2.3 with multibyte string support. One simply
   adds --enable-mbstring to the configure options. This is the single
   most important thing that one should never miss. Also allow me to add
   here that this configure option is _not_ applicable to php-4.3.0 as
   things have changed. If you use php-4.3.0, you'll have to look at the
   configure options to see the correct switch.

2. Download the patch for Japanese language support fro the following URL:
   http://www.yamaai-tech.com/~masato/Download/
   There are instructions on how to apply the patch on that site.

That should be all. My Japanese users are more than happy!
