> >>>I dont understand, whats wrong with it. Here is my
configuration:
> >>>
> >>>RedHat 7.3
>
>>>Apache 1.3
> >>>PHP 4.1
>
>>>Squirrelmail 1.4.4
> >>>vlogin 3.6
>
>>>compatibility
> >>>virtusertable 0.3
>
>>>
> >>>I have single installation of vlogin, and it
seems to work but the
> >>>problem is:
>
>>>
> >>>when vlogin is turned on and
$dontUseHostName is set to 1, main domain
> >>>users can login
with their username. but when it is turned on, nobody
> >>>can
login.
> >>
> >>see $debug. you need to provide
more info.
> >>
> >>
> >>>when vlogin is
turned off, even then only main domain users can login,
> >>>so
maybe i dont really understand the working of vlogin and
>
>>>virtusertable. but i guess vlogin only provides different pages
for
> >>>different virtual domains.
> >>
>
>>not true
> >>
> >>
> >>>even then
virtusertable doesnt work at all. always giving username or
>
>>>password wrong.
> >>>
> >>>so what
could be the problem, any ideas or what else do i need to post.
>
>>
> >>why do you need virtusertable? vlogin has the
ability to use a
> >>sendmail-style virtual map table and it has
been recently maintained.
> >>please try that instead.
>
>>
> >
> >
> > OK, fine that vlogin can do
the work that virtusertable is supposed to do.
> > But the problem is
none of them is actually doing it.
> >
> > $debug = 1
gives
> >
> > Your IMAP login was resolved to:
> >
> > [username]@[virtual domain name]
> > $hostname is
[virtual domain name]
> >
> > PHP_SELF is
/src/redirect.php
> >
> > [IP of mail server]
> >
> > while this user has an entry in virtusertable as
> >
> > [username]@[virtual domain name] otheruser@mailserver
>
>
So it seems it is not finding the table. Please show your config.
Also
> turn on PHP errors or check your logs and report any
messages/errors.
>
> > One important thing that I forgot to
mention is, mail server is on another
> > server, not the server where
SM is installed.
>
> Where is the table? It has to be
reachable at least by NFS.
>
> > So I guess it would make a
difference. Though I have copied virtusertable
> > from mail server to
the server where SM is installed.
>
> Then it should work
fine. The username isn't mapping or the table isn't
> being
found. It might also help VERY MUCH if you give a *real* example.
>
