Then it sounds to me like you want to use $domain as parsed out of the
user's login. Seems to me your *original* request should have been
posed as a question of how to do that. Er, I think someone recently
asked for the same functionality for vlogin. I don't remember if I
added it, but if you need it, I can do that. You should first look at
that plugin and see if it suits your needs (make sure the username
(de)construction functionality is turned off in your installation).
