Disk quota, and IMAP quota are two different things. I don't remember
what you said your IMAP server has been in the past, but what you
might find is a mailbox has a single file, to remove files it might
make a backup of that file and then remove the items before removing
the backup. This is an issue because it cannot make that copy of
itself due to the lack of space imposed by the disk quota. As for a
solution, bump up the space temporarily until you can expunge the
trash.
