As an addendum, these timeouts are defined near the top of membership.c.  You can \
safely lower these timeouts significantly.  It will just cause more probing traffic \
on your network.  If you set the timeout to be something like 10 seconds, you still \
probably will not notice the overhead, but daemons will find each other significantly \
faster even if your clients aren't sending traffic.
