Subject:    Sun Xterminal 1 and SCSI Ethernet controller

I have a Sun Xterminal 1 which is basically a Sun sparcstation 4 except that
it is missing the on board scsi controller. I'm trying to use a Sun SCSI/
Ethernet controller in it (510-1869) and it does not seem to work. From
the boot prom I do a probe-scsi and get back nothing. If I do a
probe-scsi-all I get

/iommu@0,10000000/sbus@0,10001000/dma@0,81000/esp@1,900000
Memory error during DMA transfer.
DMA control register = ffd2a16c, DMA address = ffec8000
DMA control register 0, DMA address = ffec8000

can't clear interrupts

I've also noticed that the led on the drive flashes constantly.

I'd really like to get this machine going. Does anyone have one, is this
sbus card compatable, Is there anything I can do to get it to work?
