The easiest way would be to use the "stats" effect instead of the  
"stat" effect, as stats outputs dBFS values. :)

But apart from that, you already have the right formula. The reference  
level for dBFS is full scale, which is 1. So, to convert a sample  
value of 0.172607 into dBFS, you just calculate 20*lg(0.172607/1) =  
20*lg(0.172607) = 20*(-0.762941596) = -15.258831913.
