Subject:    [Snort-announce] Install problems for snort on linux

Snort Gurus,

     I have some problems installing the snort or Red Hat
Linux.

I got the libpcap 0.4 version and have got it installed
successfully.

./configure
make
make install
make install-incl
make install-man

All the steps followed, as I found in the archives that
the install-incl have to be there, and created the
required directories for the make install-incl.

I still get this message.
[root@xyz xyzuser #  rpm --install snort-1.7-1.i386.rpm
error: failed dependencies:
        libpcap >= 0.4 is needed by snort-1.7-1

Please help, what is wrong here.
