yeah very unlikely, my partition is allways above 100 Mbyte free :)

yeah file locking could be an explanation, but on my system i am the only
one, so concurrent read/write is not very likely.

Some of my users (i am coding moregroupware a php based open source groupware)
have same problems, but very rare. I can sometimes saw the same error on
my development system.

i will try to track down the error, but this wont be easy at all, cause
its some kind of random.

I could apply a workaround into smarty regarding re-compile on 0byte file,
but like i said, this is the easy and unclever approach to solve it.
Besides this, i want to upgrade smarty w/o applying my own patches again
and again :)
