Ah, found it now (in core.get_include_path.php).

Like all good features, should this have an option to turn it off? The risk
of exposing PHP code, as it did for me, seems a good justification for not
having to have this, although I can see why it might be liked by many.

Or, can you see a good way to work around this without modifying Smarty?

Indeed, I have in most cases, only realising that this site was not up to
date when I checked the version for posting here.
