Hello Mike,

The first method call within each HttpClient will result in a double http
call. Thereafter only one call is issued (I guess). The Slide test suite
uses one HttpClient for one Method call, therefore the performance problem.

Great! Thanks a lot to both you and Eric for doing this work.

Concerning point 3) - do you mean that 2 calls (HTTP requests) are sent 
to the server on _every_ request (rather than just on the first request, 
as with the old code)?
