This is true. And a lot of questions there get asked again and again and
again.....

Well, the documentation is WAY better than it was in the beginning. I
remember the pre-1.0 days. It was scary!

I think it's pretty easy to follow. When I first started with pre-1.0 version, I knew \
NOTHING about perl. I knew PL-SQL (oracle) and some other languages. Perl is very \
different.

The current version, you do as the INSTALL says. You have to have MySQL installed, \
and Apache/Mod_perl source. It's all in the docs. And having the ability to do a CPAN \
install Bundle::Slash is way cool. In fact, for me, everything there seems to work \
fine now. Mysql modules for a long time seemed to be broken and would require a \
manual install.

Anyhow, I digress. My slash site was working fine till recently. Perhaps because I \
like to live on the bleeding edge and run a site on the latest CVS. My own fault, \
but, I like to be geeky. And Krow added a File Upload thing. Very cool. But, like I \
said, I'm getting those errors and pages aren't updating the counts, and stories are \
not getting refreshed.
