Well, the first request would come from the Internet.  The second request
would come from Squid, and so could be substantially faster -- that is what
caches like Squid do.  ;^)

You might try CTRL+Refresh (this causes the browser to send an HTTP header
that tells Squid not to use the page that is in the cache) and see what
happens.

You might be experiencing slow internet connectivity or internet DNS issues
-- those things can really slow things down.

Anyone else experiancing slow loading of web pages or web pages don't
load completely  and after you hit refresh the page comes up and is 
rather fast?
Using squid webproxy , with smartfilter and ldap...
