I have implemented a two liner add in to local.rc script whereby I
overwrite the system generated version of the named.conf.u with a
pre=made one that has the right settings and file typing then ndc
restarts.

This has solved my problem with this same issue.

Also, be advised the GUI can often create invalid named.conf files. It
duplicates one of the named commands in it. Always run the name
configuration checker after using the GUI to do ANYTHNG in DNS.
