Not to be the naysayer, but XPs drag and drop is a form of Adaptec's
(now Roxio's) DirectCD, which has never been ISO compatible, primarily
because it formats the disc and treats it as a removable r/w drive. Just
wanted to bat down one that *isn't* Microsoft's fault.
And no, I don't work for Microsoft, nor am I a Winblows geek.

When I want to mount a CD-ROM on our (or any of our customers)
Sidewinders I'm afraid I usually cheat, and initiate a package command.
Execute
'package -L -interactive'
with no cd-rom in the drive. The first question it will ask is if the
package is on cd-rom, say yes and you will see an error message which
tells you the device, and the specific mount command it is using
(mount_cd9660).
NB If you put the updates onto an ISO formatted CD-ROM (most burning
programs will support this, except Windows XP drag and drop SUPRISE
SUPRISE!), into a sub-directory called packages then you can just use
the package command shown above WITH the cd in the drive.
