Hi,

Running an old 4.1.0.11 server (I know, we are upgrading in a month) we are 
having a problem with sql (Oracle Net8) requests stalling for 11 seconds 
during processing.

We see the traffic as follows:

normal micro second response packets going back and forth and then...

Inside firewall:

14:48:52.342256 firewall1888 > dbserver sql: . ack 1 win 33580
14:49:02.340934 firewall1888 > dbserver sql: P 1:230(229) ack 1 win 33580

On DMZ:

14:48:52.530227 dbserver sql > client3749: . ack 230 win 33580
14:49:03.162070 dbserver sql > client3749: P 1:9(8) ack 230 win 335801

then the rest of the trans goes fine.

It's always 10/11 seconds. I'm thinking some sort of timeout is happening. 
Maybe something will the lone ack and no data?

No packets are omitted except before and after....

Other even older firewall  (4.0.x) works fine as well as new one.

any ideas?
